Parent Liason (ext. 64095)
Contact Lucia Rodriguez-v  Lucia Rodriguez-v Staff
My name is Lucia Rodriguez-V and I am Rancho Minervas Community and Family Liaison. A little bit about myself, I grew up in Davis, CA surrounded by a large and vivacious mexican family. Because of their love and support I was able to pursue my goals and graduate from Sacramento State with a degree in Sociology and Chican@ Studies.
The purpose of my job is to improve communication and student achievement by promoting parent and community involvement in the educational process; refer and provide information on the services available to students and families; convey and interpret information regarding school and district activities, policies, goals and procedures; plan, organize and coordinate a variety of events and activities in support of the district's educational program.
It is my goal that through my position families feel heard and appreciated; that together we can create a mechanism of empowerment and support so that the student reaches their full potential. Think of me as a resource and your best ally at Rancho Minerva!

Parent Portal

Parent Portal is an exciting tool for parents to use. It allows parents to view their student's attendance, grades, test scores, and classroom assignments. No longer do you have to wait for a report card to arrive to see how your student is doing, just log in and get a glimpse of their progress in class.

All you need to log in is access to the internet and a valid email address to create your account. Come into our office and one of our staff members can help you set up your account.

Absences and Tardies

Parents must call (760-631-4500 ext. 64008) or send a signed note to the Attendance office within 72 hours when a student has been absent. Absences not cleared by 72 hours cannot be cleared at a later date. Valid reasons for excused absences or tadies are the following: personal illness/injury, medical or dental appointments, a death in the family, religious holidays and independent study. For more information please refer to VUSD Board Policy 5005.

Pick up and Drop off

When picking up and dropping off your students, we ask you do this via RMMS parking lot. We have received many calls regarding people parking in our neighbor's driveways, and also blocking streets around RMMS. For your students' safety, we ask you to pick them up in our parking lot.

Volunteering is a great way to show your children that you take an interest in their education. Parent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for our school community while showing their children the importance of participating in the larger community. Even if you haven't been involved in the past, start now!  Ask your child’s teacher or our school's liason, Mrs. Sandoval, how you can help.

Volunteering not only benefits your children; you also benefit by making the school a more positive place. Through your modeling, relationship building and support, you will be helping in ways that will reap benefits for everyone.
